Dubai ruler gifts students AED100,000 each


Dubai’s ruler has gifted AED5.3m ($1.44m) to students across the country for scoring high marks in their grade 12 public school exams.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, gave 53 students from public and private schools AED100,000 each, Gulf News reported.
Certificates as well the cash incentives and laptops were presented by the Minister of Education Humaid Al Qutami on Wednesday.
The top 20 students were also granted scholarships at universities and colleges, said the newspaper.
